Dan was loving his new handlebar but had mentioned that a little wider might be better for stability in big drops. After riding the Proto type Treadway 2.0 last season Dan’s hunch was right. The 1 .5” of extra width felt more stable and was still not in his way side hilling and boondocking in tight trees. The cut marks are there if the width feels too wide for a customized size to your liking. The added width also allows more space for stock controls to fit directly to handlebars and better brake lever positioning adjustment.
Our entire line up of handlebars is built from the inside out. We start with high quality 7075 double butted heat treated aluminum for a strong and lightweight base. In the center, where the risers clamps to the bar, the width is a beefy 1 1/8” thick. The handlebars then taper off to 7/8” thick for your handlebar controls and hands to fit nicely around. This construction also allows energy to dissipate over a gradual tapering thickness within the inner core. This results in a stronger bar that dampens hard hits and also gives the user a better feel of what’s going on underneath on the snow.
