This park, while currently closed, is worth checking into, because when it reopens it will be worth the wait. This is a new ATV park that has mud bogs (for some serious mess-making), deep water crossings (for those adventurers equipped with snorkels on their rides and good shocks), and miles of marked woods trails.
There is a good deal of parking available and restrooms are located on site. There is also running water by the staging area.
This is a recreation area that has something for everyone. Just make sure any novice riders in your party don’t head for the deeper bogs, because they may not be able to get back out!
The trails are mostly mud, at a low elevation of only 65 to 100 feet. The trails are well-maintained, however, to prevent any hazardous conditions.
To reach ATV Mud Fury from Monroe, LA, get on the I-20 and take exit 114. Turn south on SR-617/Thomas Road and drive 5.8 miles. Then, take a left onto Philpot Road and go another 2.9 miles until you reach the park entrance on the right. Put on a pancho and go have a blast!
